Edison Cavani and this alleged Racist comment, ban or not?
Cavani in hot water for innocent comments!!! Or another Racist exposed?

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/nov/30/edinson-cavani-fa-investigation-social-media-instagram-post

Apparently in places like Uruguay loads of people use the term or have a friend that goes by Negro or Negrito and no one finds it offensive, not that it will matter to the PL authorities in the UK, or the fact Cavani used it to thank a fan, but some woke type has spotted it and now looks like a full blown investigation, odds on he gets a ban.....Suarez (also from Uruguay) got an 8 game ban for it when he said it to Evra and claimed it was in jest, Bernado Silva made the headlines and got a 1 match ban for a personal joke with his mate Mendy that someone found offensive, so reckon at least 4 matches for Cavani?

Modern fucking football eh.

*shakes head

Innocent in my view, guessing the premier league jumped on this black life matters bullshit and looked after their own reputation rather than doing the right thing.

Agreed Eerie. Mind you the MSM and western democracies are teetering towards their final days of the industrial age.

They will both eventually give way to the unstoppable information age...

Re: Edison Cavani and this alleged Racist comment, ban or not?
Put aside whether you think his media comment is racist or not. Maybe the PL weren't sure or thought it a minefield if they did rule it was/or wasn't. Perhaps the ban was issued for his stranglehold and violent conduct which went virtually unpunished. The VAR ref cocked it up by not advising the on-field ref it was a red. Because the on-field ref issued a card, it could not go for review after the event. The red card would have resulted in a three-match ban...which is what he has now got...poetic justice or covering up for VAR ? You choose

It seems PC for idiots has overtaken PC. I approve of the latter.

Without saying anything about the Cavani case, I'm well aware that close friends of different ethnicities can refer to each other in terms that Golden Oldie would blush to use when refering to, say, riosleftsock or Brentwood Road.

Dragged out of context, this would seem shocking.

Idiots have difficulty with context.

Re: Edison Cavani and this alleged Racist comment, ban or not?
The FA have said whilst dishing out a 3 game ban and a big fine..................................“A comment posted on the Manchester United FC striker’s Instagram page was insulting, abusive, improper and brought the game into disrepute contrary to FA Rule E3.1. The post also constitutes an ‘aggravated breach’, which is defined in FA Rule E3.2, as it included reference, whether express or implied, to colour and/or race and/or ethnic origin.”

Fuck me, all a bit over the top isnt it? Had anyone actually complained before the FA jumped all over this? and i bet no pundit or other person involved in the game will dare mention or question the decision, such is the current witch hunt status in the game, anyone who dares would get similar treatment i bet.

All a bit Racist in itself as well isnt it? English speaking World Telling South Americans there terms and language are not acceptable.

Another example of a fucked up world

Yorkshire calling everyone Asian ‘Steve’ is disrespectful and racist and Warne following it is the same.

I think Warne was misheard. he didn't say "Steve", he said "Jeez", when the convicts were reduced to 111 - 7.

Most people who travel abroad adapt their own name so that its easier to pronounce for those whose native tongue makes it difficult for them to pronounce it, it would be extremely rude in any culture to expect your hosts to have to adapt to accommodate you and your complicated unfamiliar ways, as their guest.

Needs to lift his game & learn the name
Pujara probably has a name he is called within the Indian team. At least use that

Can remember Chelsea .... probably John Terry’s work ... deciding that Azpilicueta was too hard so they call him Dave.
His name is Cesar

Shane Warne in minor shit for referring to Cheteshwar Pujara as 'Steve' whilst on commentary in Australia India Test.

Would like to know EXACTLY what the Hampshire twat said to land him in tepid water. Pujara was nicknamed Steve whilst at Yorkshire because apparently 'they couldn't say his name.'

More likely reason was they are just a bunch of ignorant twats, should have called him Pudgy or suchlike.

Apparently Yorkshire called EVERYONE who wasn't a true blood Yorkie flat cap whippet owner 'STEVE' especially if they came from South Asian heritage.

Not sure if that is really racist though however just makes Yorkshire County Cricket Club look like cunts. Which isn't difficult.

Hardly a surprise, the world is full of gay apologist cunts and the FA is scared of all of them.

Re: Edison Cavani and this alleged Racist comment, ban or not?
It appears that this and the Romanian 4th official in the PSG game are just misunderstandings based on language and you could argue its more discriminatory as mentioned to ignore the subtlety and wonder why JOHNNY FOREIGNER just doesnt speak English
The Premier league have painted themselves into a corner with this zero tolerance and complete inability to acknowledge a misunderstanding

All it does do is take away from genuine racist incidents

That ok sign divers use when your index finger touches your thumb and it’s pretty much universal across the world means homosexual in Brazilian culture and is a proper insult.

Are you referring to Grealish and Salah?

Re: Edison Cavani and this alleged Racist comment, ban or not?
Cavani is to be charged and faces a 3 game ban.

Isn’t this a bit racist or discriminating in itself? He will be charged because in the UK his comments (in Spanish to someone in Uruguay) are seen as racist, but the fact in Uruguay and across South America and the Caribbean it’s a term of endearment doesn’t seem to come in to play for the FA.

What next ban any language as some words may sound offensive to English speaking people, be uproar if it was the other way around im sure.

England, the FA, dogs etc
